Hi I’m just interested to hear your experiences with cranial osteopathy. I used one 4 years ago for my son who had a problem with his head neck following ventouse delivery & I vaguely remember it helping him, I’m considering going to one again for my baby who has reflux/possible milk allergy.

Has anyone taken their reflux baby to an osteopath - did it help? My son is very congested & I was hoping it might help him x

A friend of mine took her son to a chiropractor - I'd check they'll do it with babies before you book - but it sorted his reflux out literally overnight and was just afew tweeks needed from a bad birth. If I was in that position id definitely try it.

I think it depends what is actually causing the reflux, we started going when my LB was 2 weeks old till about 6 or 7 weeks old and it didn't help but it turned out to be a lactose intolerance so special milk did help thank god! By 12 weeks it had all calmed down. However she did tell me that she had massaged that little muscle that helps keep food down in their food pipe, his bowels to make him regular and relieve tummy pains and massaged his pressure points behind his ears for digestion, so i guess if those are your issues it could help. I've heard good things just not for us x

I appreciate your interest in hearing about experiences with cranial osteopathy, especially regarding reflux and other related issues in babies.

Many parents have sought cranial osteopathy for their babies, especially when they experience challenges like reflux or other discomforts. Here's how it might help:

  1. Reflux Relief: Some parents have reported that cranial osteopathy helped ease their baby's reflux symptoms. The gentle techniques used can promote relaxation in the baby's body, potentially reducing the discomfort associated with reflux.
  2. Congestion: Cranial osteopathy might also address issues like congestion. By releasing tension in the head and neck area, it could potentially alleviate some of the congestion-related symptoms.
  3. Holistic Approach: Osteopathy, including cranial osteopathy, takes a holistic approach to health. It aims to address not just the symptoms but also the underlying causes of discomfort, which can be beneficial for a wide range of baby-related issues.

If you're considering cranial osteopathy for your baby, it's essential to consult with a healthcare professional who specialises in treating infants. They can assess your baby's unique situation and determine whether this approach is suitable.

For tailored guidance and support, you can consider reaching out to Broadwater Osteopathic Practice. They have experience in providing osteopathic care to babies and families. You can find more information about their services and schedule an appointment on their website: Broadwater Osteopathic Practice.

Remember that every baby is different, and what works for one may not work for another. Be sure to discuss your concerns with a healthcare provider who can offer you personalised advice and support for your baby's well-being.
