I recently did my daughter's 5th birthday party and I feel so horrible that we didn't have a lot of time. On the invite I put 1PM - 3PM also it ended up raining, but the party was going to be inside anyways. So, I felt like the guests (kids & parents) ended up with semi cold food and warm beverages. Also, I felt like it was so rushed and basically had 1 hour, and I felt like it wasn't enough time and I just felt so horrible that it did not go as planned which I know to expect but the people helping me also did not respect the time my guests were sitting and waiting. Originally the kids were going to play outside at the playground but since it rained, we did a little fashion walk, dance party, musical chairs, pinata, and of course they ate when the food was finally here. I don't even know if my guests had fun, I know the kids were playing and running around with each other etc., but I still feel bad. Idk how to face the other parents at school now lol...

Don't panic! As long as the kids had fun that's the main thing :) please don't overthink it... Kids parties are chaos and rarely go to plan! I've got many stories after 23 years of kids parties in our house đŸ€Ł...i spent my sons 5th birthday party in tears after my neighbour came to the hall and informed me that while I was setting up the party, my sons cat had been killed by a car.. I was doing the entertainment myself and let's say... I wasn't very entertaining!! But the kids didn't care they ran around and ate cake to them it was all good.

Most kids parties are a standard 2 hours and tbh that's long enough when it's such hard work.

After a while, we found it was far easier to take them to a play centre or somewhere organised like bowling for parties so they do it all there for you , far less stressful!

Honestly at 5 they'd be happy just stuck in a room together for 2 hours. They will have had a great time.

Oh honestly it's a 5 year olds party... the parents won't have thought anything anything of it. I've been to so many 5 year old parties over the last 9 months and all different, kids have a good time that's all that matters. The parents aren't bothered x

If you do get any ‘comments’ , the people aren’t worth it !

Genuine people wouldn’t have given it a second thought

You did great! The main point of the party is for your kids to have fun. Honestly don't worry about it, I blog about simple, affordable party ideas and I recommend way fewer activities than what it sounds like you managed to achieve!

Keep going! Zoe x
