My baby is measuring at 29 weeks and a few days I am very worried as I have been told I’m going to have to come for more regular scans I am a very small person I’m only 4”10 so the hospital said this could be the reason why but they can’t confirm this yet as it could be many other reasons why she’s are mostly saying her legs are looking small does anyone else’s growth scan report look like this or had something similar I’m really worried

Hi

all I can say about growth scans is take them will a pinch of salt. When I was pregnant with my first. They said baby too small, then I had another scan and she was too big. I went back and forth had so much unnecessary worry and in the end my little girl was a perfect 8lb 1oz.

Sometimes it can come down to who is measuring. Just be reassured that If there's any issues they will keep a very close eye on you.

Try not to worry and take it day by day.

Take care, T xx

I have 7 children and 27 weeks pregnant with no 8 . My first was 8lb 1oz and got stuck i ended up with 4th degree tears . So with all other pregnancys I've had growth scans ar 28 32 and 36 weeks . I'm also 4'10!! From my experience the scans were pretty much correct givebor take a few oz with my 7th pregnancy baby was measuring small but the consultant over looked it it wasnt till 34 weeks at a routine midwife appointment the alarm was raised and baby was actually measuring just under the 3rd percentile. I had a weekly scans and baby didn't really gain . Induction was booked at 38+ 4 had a scan at 38 weeks which said baby was measuring 5lb 6oz . However at birth baby weighed 5lb 3oz and was classed as IUGR. It sometimes depends on whos doing the scan measurements as they vary from person to person. But in my experience they were not far off atall.

You are not very tall and probably a small body frame. Your baby will be at the smaller end of average. It seems to stand to reason.

Try not to worry. Eat well, rest when you can, look after yourself.

Wishing you all the luck in the world for you and your new baby.
