Hey

Does anyone else have a 4 year old who doesn't want to go to nursery, says her tummy hurts. Once she's there I "believe" she's fine they have no reason to lie but I always worry is she sad there.

She only goes twice a week for about 6 hours in total.

She's not really a confident child and wants a mum all the time im very worried for school.

I recently used to stay at nursery until she was happy for me to go but after reading some stuff online they said it's best to just drop and go so I've been doing that. She is upset and it's hard

I work in a school and we have some little ones just started nursery who are upset. We've found them coming daily is better as they get much more used to the routine.

Also it's really important than when you say you're going thar you go. Don't delay it because she's upset. Say goodbye, mummy will be back later and leave. Usually with a few minutes the staff will have distracted and they'll be fine playing.

We often ring parents to reassure them that they are fine. Most nurseries wouldn't keep a child foe the full session if they were distraught
