Our review

Looking for a pushchair that you can use both for running and everyday life? Meet the BOB Revolution Pro.

Our review

Running or jogging whilst pushing your children can be a great way to exercise whilst keeping them close, but dedicated running buggies can be expensive and hard to store, and often mean you’ll have to buy another pushchair for everyday life. That’s why models like the BOB Revolution Pro are a bit of a winner, they’re made with the capability of a jogger, but with features that make them suitable for running errands and visiting the shops, too.

The BOB range of running buggies is part of Britax, well known for their safe and practical car seats and pushchairs.

Unlike most running buggies the Revolution Pro has a front swivel wheel, which can then be fixed when you need to run in a straight line. This makes it great for using for everyday life as it has the manoeuvrability you need to dodge and weave around shopping aisles and busy streets.

The Revolution Pro is a big sturdy pushchair though and ideal for travelling at speed or across rougher terrain. It’s suitable for children from six months, although you can attach a carrycot or infant carrier to its chassis for use from birth, but you’ll have to buy these separately. One downside is that it’s not particularly small when folded, so double check before you buy that it’ll fit in your car’s boot.

So what other features does the Revolution Pro have?

The adjustable handlebar has a useful wrist strap for greater control when you’re on the run plus a hand brake for improved safety. There’s also a foot-controlled parking brake.

The air-filled wheels, made from high-impact polymer composite give a smooth ride on pretty much any surface, great for country walks or jogs.

The coil spring and elastomer core shock absorbers ensure your child has a smooth ride, even on the roughest terrain. The shock release knob has two positions allowing you to adjust the suspension for your little passenger.

There’s a huge SPF 50+ sun canopy, perfect for the summer months, with a viewing window so you can easily keep an eye on your child.

What to watch out for
The Revolution Pro doesn't fold up particularly small, so make sure it fits in your car's boot.

Netmums' verdict

A well-engineered and striking running pushchair that has the added advantage of being able to transform into a travel system.
