I feel so lost right now , its been 8 days since my partner , love of my life just told me he has feelings for someone else and just dumped me , 2 days later he's in a relationship with other women....I'm just so shock ,6 years we was together , a child of our own and step kids and mine ...I mean granted last year we have both struggled , me being depressed , him being depressed , some events making it worse, normal life making things hard and no time to make for each other ....I understand why that path has led to this but he just checked out on me , in my eyes when times r tough you hold onto the love you have or knew , and u decide together what your next move it ....I just feel totally blind sided ....everything's toxic at the minute and I just don't no what to do with myself ...everything is a reminder of him and he's just so cold to me , I don't even recognise him ...ughhh how do you get over this ...I was literally already struggling before this ..just feel like I've lost my person 😞

Hi Siobhan

I’m Lauren one of the parent supporters here on Netmums. I’m sorry to read what has happened for your relationship. It is natural to feel like you do with the loss of it. Finding a new routine and lifestyle will take some time.

Do you have any friends or family support around?

I wonder would you find some counselling helpful? It might give you space to work through.

We are here to listen if you want to talk some more

That seems very soon to move on he might of been cheating for a while? Hold your head up high and move on. It will

be tough but there is not much you can do x

Sounds about right no one by chance meets someone and moves in within a couple of days ! My ex swore blind it was me my paranoia blah blah blah I was the reason he was leaving it was a week later and he’d moved in with someone else it turns out they’d been at it for two months at least! It took me 2 and a half years to move on but met the love of my life been together 13 years this year! Move on once a cheater always a cheater you can do better!

Same but I'm about 12 weeks in...worst feeling in the entire world..its not easy, it won't be, he will not help, you need to be strong as he will act like a pratt, people keep telling me it will get easier but it's a slow process, I feel that now. I want it to over, I want to seek revenge, my daughter has suffered as have I. I lost 3 stone in 2 months as I could eat or sleep but my daughter needs me. I am getting better. Keep going...read all those quotes people send, talk to as many people as you can. Not your fault. He is a coward.

Keep yourself busy, cry when you need to, its like a grief for what you had so allow yourself time to get over whats happened & in time you will move on from this a stronger person.
